DEGREE PROGRAM-
MACL (MASTERS OF ARTS IN CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP)

The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership degree program is designed to prepare students for personal and organizational leadership roles in a wide variety of church, parachurch, missions, and marketplace contexts. The MACL program at DTS is designed to help men and women learn who God has uniquely gifted them to lead in whatever ministry setting they are called to serve

I have uploaded my Leadership Philosophy and Leadership Pipeline documents here for your viewing.

I have also included the website of the church I planted during my degree program.

Overall Reflection Statement:

For my competence in the Master’s in Christian Leadership degree program I am submitting 2 Artifacts: a leadership philosophy paper and a leadership pipeline plan. During this degree program and specifically during this ministry residency, I developed a clearer vision on how to develop leaders. By placing a plan down on paper, it became more evident to those joining the church on how to move

from one level of leadership to the other as they demonstrate competency.

I also placed on paper the values and cultureI desire to see as revealed by the Scriptures in our leadership by developing a leadership philosophy.

Learning Reflection Statement:

As I developed in the Masters of Christian Leadership degree and ministry experiences, I learned the importance of communicating the philosophy and culture of servant leadership early on  in the onboarding process. I have also learned that while it is important to communicate this, the leadership culture is better “caught than taught”. In other words, if I want our leadership team to reflect grace and servant-leadership, then I must model it. In addition, developing and delegating leaders is absolutely imperative to fulfilling the mission of the church. Otherwise, one’s impact will be limited. So then an intentional effort must be made to develop leaders therein the importance of a clear leadership development pipeline.

Lifelong Development Reflection Statement:

As a result of the experiences documented by these artifacts, I will continue to develop in the Masters in Christian Leadership degree. To do so  I will continue to read books  and hone my skills in developing and deploying leaders in an intentional fashion. I believe it is a scriptural and pragmatic necessity. During the residency, I found the books of Developing a Leadership Pipeline and Building Leaders to be so impactful. I intend to read both books again and begin to implement some of the principles of leadership and pipeline development in the ensuing months ahead.

The hope is that in the future this would lead to an adequate equipping of saints

and building up leaders within the church to do the work of the ministry.
